Alodine 5992

Surface treatment for PHOSPHATE-CHROMATE conversion of aluminium and its alloys.

- Improves paint adhesion
- Maintains unchanged over time the electrical resistivity of the alloy used
- Excellent resistance to salt fog (however, it depends on the alloy)
- Increases glue adhesion
- Increases ink adhesion
- Complies with specification MIL C-5541

Properties and characteristics
ALODINE 5992, is used to obtain a coating on aluminium and its alloys that improves paint adhesion and corrosion resistance protection.
The typical coating obtained is colourless; depending on the alloy used, 500 hours can be reached in the salt fog test.
Slight differences in the appearance of the product do not compromise its efficiency and operating performance.
Each alloy reacts with the ALODINE 5993 bath to yield a coating that is characteristic for that alloy.
It is important to keep this in mind if one contemplates assembling various alloys for parts to be left unpainted for aesthetic purposes.
The deposit contains chromium III (trivalent).

Applications
Mechanical, electromechanical, aviation, space, agricultural, nautical, etc.

Operating conditions
It can be used as a final treatment, or as a priming coat for paints, glues, and inks.
